Contactless card payments at McDonald’s Northern Ireland McDonald’s customers can now benefit from lightning-fast contactless card payments as the restaurant chain launches the scheme across its 26 restaurants across Northern Ireland. The high-tech system is being launched jointly with Visa Europe and is one of the UK’s largest rollouts of the technology. By using a contactless enabled card, McDonald’s customers will be able to pay in less than a second by touching their card against a wireless reader, speeding up service and providing a convenient new payment option. Contactless payment saves time and effort, allowing customers to quickly pay for items which cost £15 or under without having to search around for cash. As well as being quick and easy, it is secure, so customers can shop with confidence. Pictured at the launch is Ciara McStravick, the first McDonald’s customer in Northern Ireland to use the new payment system.
